周晓伟,男,1966年出生,自幼跟随叔叔周尊贤(原上海音乐学院小提琴教授,现赴美)学习小提琴。90年开始在上海音乐学院学习小提琴制作,师从华天礽教授。92年赴美深造,师从Edward Campbell在chimneys violin shop。94年师从著名制琴师葛树声继续深造。
96年荣获美国提琴协会小提琴音质银奖,之后又荣获中提琴音质奖。
近20年前纽约茱莉亚音乐学院院长MR clapp(照片左)购买周晓伟一把小提琴,在其音乐会中经常使用,MR clapp院长逝世后其家人将此琴作为珍贵遗物捐献给学院,现这把琴为茱莉亚音乐学院拥有。
Zhou xiaowei, male, born in 1966, learned the violin from his uncle, Zhou zunxian (former professor of violin at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, now in the United States). In 1990, he began to learn violin making in Shanghai Conservatory of Music and studied with professor Hua tianreng. In 1992, he went to the United States for further study and learned from Edward Campbell in chimneys violin shop. In 1994, he learned from Ge shusheng, a famous luthier, for pursuing advanced studies.
In 1996, he won the silver award for violin sound of the American violin association, and later the viola sound award.
Nearly 20 years ago, Mr. Clapp, the dean of The Juilliard School in New York, bought a violin by Zhou xiaowei, which was often used in his concerts. After the dean's death, his family donated the violin to the college as a precious relic, which is now owned by The Juilliard School.
